Band Parent Volunteers

No band program can be successful without an active parent organization.  We are fortunate to have an extremely supportive community and we are grateful for how much our parents bring to our program.  Here are some areas of need:

                 Chaperone District Festival first weekend in March

 

                 Chaperone the spring trip to Busch Gardens on May 8, 2009

 

                 Assist with organization of paperwork / bus binders / emergency care / etc for spring trip

 

                 Assist with money collection / distribution of concert uniforms

 

                 Assist with money collection / organization for band fundraiser in October

 

                 Field Trip organization

 

                 Help during the school day (file, organize, process forms for field trips and call parents of students who have not turned in forms)

 

                 Data / spreadsheet entry

Symphonic VMEA Trip Fundraising Information

The trip will cost the program as a whole about $5,500.  Our principal, Debbie Hernandez, has agreed to contribute some as well as our PTA.  While we greatly appreciate their generosity, we are still working on raising about half of the total amount of money.  Please keep in mind that since this trip is “unique” to just this year, this money raised has to be on top of the annual fall music department fundraiser that takes place in October in order to provide us with the funds for our yearly operating budget.  The main way that we are raising the money is through company contributions and sponsorship.  If anybody works for or has a connection to a company in the Vienna area that would be interested in making a donation in return for an advertisement in our concert program (which will be seen by many!), please contact Mr. Weise immediately.
